The Outburst

A Fiery Temper Mrs. Lynde's Criticism Mrs. Lynde calls Anne homely and red-haired. Anne, enraged, screams that she hates her and stamps her feet. The Apology

A Dramatic Reconciliation Matthew's Intervention Matthew persuades Anne to apologize to oblige him. Anne agrees. Over-the-Top Apology Anne kneels before Mrs. Lynde and delivers a flowery, exaggerated apology, enjoying the drama. Mrs. Lynde is won over. Forgiveness Mrs. Lynde forgives Anne and even gives her hope that her hair may darken. The conflict ends.
